Our community

Weir State School receives significant support from our local community. Regular visits from community service providers, for example: postman, police, ambulance officers, defence personnel and firemen support our student’s class learning curriculum programs.

Carlisle Gardens Retirement Village support the school through the provision of a bursary for a student in years 5, 6 and 7. They are also committed to supporting other programs at the school, for example, life education and providing resources.

Quota, Cops and Kids Association (QuoCKa), is an international program that encourages student engagement in reading. Volunteers from the organisation attend weekly to read to small groups of students. All year 2 students participate and receive their own reading book to keep. The resource centre also receives a selection of books.

Parents and Citizens' Association

The Parents and Citizens' Association meets on the fourth Monday of each school month at 7:00 pm.

Adopt-a-Cowboy

A cowboy player regularly visits the school to support Literacy, Numeracy and Leadership programs in classes.
