Volunteers are the backbone of our school community. They play an essential role in the supportive functions of Weir State School. Their efforts contribute to both the students educational and supportive environmental outcomes.

Classroom support

For classroom support please contact the appropriate classroom teacher - parental assistance in activities such as listening to students read, making charts and aids, typing, reading stories to students, repairing books, supervising small group activities and accompanying students on excursions is always welcome.

We are offering training in all aspects of work associated with our resource centre.  Our aims and objectives are:

  • To provide an avenue for the community to volunteer productively assisting the school and its students.
  • To provide those giving such assistance an avenue for future employment by offering assessment of units of work linked to national training packages.

Please come and assist our tuckshop ladies and enjoy wonderful company, lunch and endless tea and coffee. Be part of a great team.

If you are interested in supporting our school through volunteering please fill out the volunteers form (DOC, 63 KB) and submit to the front office.
