Townsville District State School Choral Workshop

The annual choral workshop was held in the last week of Term 2. Carlyle Gardens RSL kindly donated the money required to allow 3 very lucky students to attend. They would join 100 other students from the Townsville District.
The three girls selected from our Senior Choir to attend were Ruvarashe Nhokwara, Paige Wilson and Jazmine Neliman. The students were extremely privileged to have met and be taught by the guest Australian Conductor, Ms Kate Albury. Kate has conducted and adjudicated choirs all over the world. She is currently the Head Conductor at Brisbane Grammar School.
Ruva, Paige and Jazmine worked very hard for 4 days learning new songs and skills needed to perform a concert on the Friday afternoon for their proud families. I attended the last day of the workshop and watched the concert. I felt so proud of the girls representing our school. They were well mannered and sung beautifully. The quality of singing and the beautiful songs presented were outstanding. Ruva, Paige and Jazmine all thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and are very grateful to Carlyle Gardens RSL for this opportunity.
